This Acceptable Use Policy applies to every merchant using Coco Lame Pay. It comes in addition to Stripe's own list of prohibited and restricted businesses, which also binds you through the Stripe Services Agreement. When the two differ, the stricter rule applies.
If you're unsure whether your activity is allowed, ask us at orlandonicox@outlook.fr before you apply or before you start selling something new.
Prohibited businesses and products
You may not use the Service to sell, offer or promote:
- Anything illegal where you sell it or where your customer receives it, and any product or service that facilitates illegal activity.
- Counterfeit or unauthorized goods, replicas or look-alikes of branded products, and anything that infringes intellectual property, publicity or privacy rights.
- Weapons: firearms, firearm parts and kits, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, and weapons designed to injure such as stun guns and switchblades.
- Drugs and health products: illegal drugs and paraphernalia, controlled substances, prescription drugs and devices without a valid license, peptides and research chemicals, and any product making unproven health or medical claims.
- Tobacco, nicotine and vaping products, including e-liquids and accessories.
- Cannabis, hemp-derived THC products and CBD products.
- Adult content and services, escort or dating services involving payment for companionship.
- Gambling: games of chance, betting, lotteries, fantasy sports for money, and sweepstakes that require a purchase.
- Financial and money services: money transmission, check cashing, currency exchange, stored value and prepaid cards, resale of gift cards, lending, credit repair, debt relief, debt collection and investment opportunities.
- Crypto assets: cryptocurrency, tokens, NFTs, mining contracts and exchanges.
- Get-rich-quick and deceptive offers: pyramid or multi-level marketing schemes, "make money online" programs, and income guarantees.
- Hate, violence and exploitation: content or products promoting hatred, violence, terrorism, or the exploitation of minors or anyone else.
- Sanctioned parties: any sale to or for a person, entity or territory subject to US sanctions (OFAC).
Prohibited practices
Whatever you sell, you may not:
- Accept payments for another person or business, or let anyone else use your account. Each business needs its own account.
- Misdescribe what you sell, including through product names, references, descriptors or data sent to Stripe that don't match the goods or services actually delivered.
- Use an undeclared website or activity. Every website and product line must be declared to us before you take payments for it.
- Charge a card without the cardholder's authorization, or add charges the customer didn't clearly agree to.
- Use hidden subscriptions or negative option billing: free trials that convert without clear disclosure and easy cancellation.
- Split a sale into several payments to avoid limits or reviews.
- Use deceptive marketing: fake reviews, fake scarcity or countdowns, false discounts, celebrity endorsements you don't have, or ads that don't match the product.
- Sell goods you can't deliver within the timeline you state, or operate without a working customer service contact.
- Circumvent fraud controls, test stolen cards, or retry declined payments in ways meant to defeat issuer decisions.
- Re-open an account under a different name, company or person after an account was closed by us or by Stripe for risk or compliance reasons.
- Resell or sublicense the Service, or build a payment service for others on top of it.

Enforcement
If we believe you are in breach of this policy, we may ask you to stop the activity, request information, apply the measures described in section 10 of the Merchant Terms, suspend payments, or close your account. Serious breaches, including any practice listed in "Prohibited practices", may lead to immediate closure and will be reported to Stripe. Stripe may take its own action independently.
Reporting a merchant
If you believe a merchant using Coco Lame Pay is breaking this policy, or if you are a rights holder reporting an infringement, write to orlandonicox@outlook.fr with the website concerned and the details. We review every report.
Updates
We may update this policy, in particular when Stripe or the payment networks change their rules. Material changes are notified to merchants by email at least 30 days in advance, unless a shorter period is required by Stripe, the networks or the law.
